Michael Edward Dishaw

Michael Edward Dishaw, 23, of Ypsilanti, passed away June 22, 2012. A graduate of Eastern Michigan University (Economics), Michael worked as an Economics Researcher for CFI Group in Ann Arbor. He was very technologically gifted, always acting as the family’s go-to person for computer problems. He loved playing Ultimate Frisbee and was involved with various local teams over the past few years. Michael was close to his brother, sisters, and many of his cousins, often meeting them for coffee and to engage in philosophical discussions. He enjoyed stimulating his mind with books, movies, and listening to NPR. Always up for a challenge, he excelled at board games of any kind; he disliked losing and rarely did. Michael was the beloved son of Kristin Dishaw of Ypsilanti and Thomas Dishaw of Flat Rock, dear brother to Anna, John, Rebecca, and Pamela, cherished grandson of Thomas and Pamela Vreeland, and Earl and Alice Dishaw (deceased), and uncle to Malachi Real. A private burial was held at Highland Cemetery in Ypsilanti. Funeral services by Janowiak Funeral Home. A public memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 1 at 6:00 pm at the River Grove Pavilion at Hudson Mills Metro Park, 8801 N Territorial Rd in Dexter, MI. At the park gate, tell the gatekeeper you're with the Dishaw family and you will be let in without paying the gate fee. Service will begin at 6pm, followed by light refreshments. Guests are invited to bring discs (for Ultimate Frisbee) and Settlers of Catan board games, as these were two of Michael's favorite activities.
